With the ever increasing percentage of HD compatible TVs or monitors, including laptops and computer monitors, invading the homes of consumers across America, it is easy to assume that HD programming will continue to be a selling point for all digital video operators. The competition continues to be fierce with continual advertising targeted to bash each other with the main 3-5 national companies: Time Warner, Comcast, DIRECTV, DISH Network and AT&T U-Verse, who vie to grab the attention of a American consumers hungry for quality programming at a low price.
But DIRECTV continues to be called the leader in HD and plans on offering new features like 3D TV starting in June.
The analog signal and projection style TVs will soon become obsolete, allowing for thinner and most likely expensive, televisions to be in the majority of American homes. TV companies are making cooler and newer components each day, including 3D capable TVs, connecting to the internet through your TV and downloading programming directly to the TV. When once before consumers were excited to find HDTVs, we now see all kinds of variations, ranging from plasma to LCD to LED, and the cool trend is now who can make the thinnest and highest resolution with the most colors.
Ultimately the decision making comes from the consumer to the TV manufacturers and then to the cable operators. So if you want something cool, contact your favorite TV company.
